Confederate Memorial Day Signs

I look forward to seeing many of you on Friday at 5PM at Mt. Hope for the placing of the flags.  I did finally get the Confederate Memorial Day signs out:

 

(1) Five Points on the corner of Rite Aid

(1) Intersection of Irby and Second Loop

(1) On Palmetto at the light next to the Toyota Dealership

(1) Intersection of David McLeod Blvd. and Evans Street on the corner next to Atlanta Bread

 

There's a lot of traffic that travels these areas.  Hopefully, the signs will help get the word out.

Subject: Confederate Memorial Day Reminder

The Pee Dee Rifles will hold our annual joint Confederate Memorial Day observance with the ladies of the Ellison Capers Chapter of the UDC this Saturday, May 9th at Mt Hope.  Reenactors from the Stafford Militia, Harllee Guard and Pee Dee Light Artillery will be present to enhance our service - firing musket and artillery salutes.  The service will begin at 11:00 AM at the Confederate monument at Mt Hope.  Anyone who can come at 10 - we may need some help with last minute set up. 

 

I would also like to ask for your help placing flags on the graves.  We will meet at 5pm  on Friday afternoon at the Monument.  The weather is supposed to be nice all weekend - hot and sunny.  

 

As members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, our biggest day of the year is Confederate Memorial Day.  If you can not make a single meeting all year - I urge you to make this one.  If you are reading this email, you need to be there!
